Xtreme Youth Zone, the what’s up…

Xtreme Youth Zone (XYZ) offers a vibrant community space where youth can gather at E = MC² after school Monday through Friday 2:45 – 5:30pm. Teens 12+ (with annual signed permision slip) are welcome to enjoy a variety of activities, snacks provided by the center, homework help, or opportunities to socialize with the community. Children under 12 are welcome to attend during these hours with onsite parent or guardian.

XYZ in full effect

E=MC2 and XYZ (Youth Program) have won a Vermont Youth4Youth grant designed to inspire youth-led projects in our community. What this means for YOU is that we want you to spread the word to any local kids that we’re looking for ideas and for kids to bring these ideas to reality. Check out the video below for more info and some projects that were funded in the past below the video.

Do you know some youth that would want to take this bull by the horns and make something happen? If so have them stop into the Community Center and ask for Damon.

Last month, in the second or so week of E=MC2’s operations, drawn by free pizza, a gaggle of junior-high boys played video games. Some of them sat on big brown beanbag chairs before a large-screen television taking turns on football video game Madden 2018, while others spread out on leather chairs and dropped into a Fortnite battle royale on state-of-the-art gaming laptops. White-erase boards displayed signups for the video games, as well as for the pool, table tennis, foosball and air hockey tables. All of these toys, with their still-new toy smells, were arranged in what used to be a spacious two-bay garage.”
